The Mardi Himal is a short and simple trek in the Annapurna region. The Mardi Himal 5-Day Trek begins after a two-hour journey from Nepal's renowned tourist destination, Pokhara. The walk provides stunning views of the Annapurna Region's magnificent mountains. The Mardi Himal Trek was previously one of the lesser-known treks in the Annapurna hiking zone, but it has recently attracted a large number of foreign and local travelers.

The tour takes you through a variety of surroundings, including beautiful forests filled with rhododendrons, oaks, junipers, and pines, steep mountain terrains, and different low-base sites. Along the route, you will be treated to breathtaking vistas of the famous Annapurna Himalayas. While certain sections of the trail are steep and slippery, providing an element of adventure, the overall journey is very straightforward.

Best Time for Mardi Himal Trek

The monsoon has a significant impact on Nepal's trekking seasons, and the Mardi Himal Trek is no exception. The monsoon season normally lasts from June to August. As a result, many trekkers choose to embark on this adventure between the spring months of February and May or the autumn months of September and November.

During these seasons, you may expect a perfect balance of pleasant temperatures and unobstructed mountain views. However, the Mardi Himal region is open for trekking throughout the year, providing a variety of experiences. The winter months provide snow-covered trails that evoke a sense of mystery, but the summer months shroud the hillsides in mist, providing an equally enchanting atmosphere.

Mardi Himal Trek difficulty

In terms of difficulty, the Mardi Himal trip is considered a very short and easy trip in the Annapurna region. This means that anyone with decent general health and a moderate level of fitness can complete the entire journey. However, it is crucial to note that the daily practice includes around 5 to 6 hours of ascent and descent, which requires a significant amount of stamina.

The trail itself varies, with some sections being small and slippery, and in the winter, certain areas may be covered with snow. To navigate these conditions, it is recommended that you bring trekking poles and crampons. Furthermore, it's worth noting that the teahouse at Mardi Himal Base Camp remains closed during the winter months, making lodging scarcer during the off-season.

Mardi Himal Distance:

The Mardi Himal hike covers 57 kilometers (35 miles) in both directions. The excursion starts with a 27-kilometer drive from Pokhara to Kande. The journey visits several locations, including Australian Camp, Pothana, Deurali, Forest Camp, and Low Camp. The remaining ones are Middle Camp (Badal Danda), High Camp, High Viewpoint, and Mardi Himal Base Camp. The trail returns past Low Camp before continuing to Sidding Village.

The distance between Pokhara and Mardi Himal Base Camp is 31.0 kilometers (19 miles) one way. There are various tea houses along the trail where hikers can stop and rest. The track is pretty simple and does not have any difficult climbing sections.

A Typical Day On The Trek

Every morning on the Mardi Himal Trek, our guide will offer you a wake-up tea at about 6 a.m., after which we will go for breakfast with spectacular views.

Breakfast is usually served at 7 a.m., and the walk begins at 8 a.m., after the stretching and warm-up before we continue on every day. Our daily walk is usually around 3-4 hours long, but it also depends on your degree of physical fitness. Lunch on the walk is normally served between 12 and 1 p.m. and lasts 40 minutes. A fresh and hygienic lunch is typically selected from the menu and served as quickly as possible with a cup of tea or coffee.

Dinner and overnight camp: We'll soon arrive at our campsite (Trekking Lodge). Then we might rest before going to supper, but our guide and porter would gladly give you a cup of tea in your room while you rest. And we let you know that our meal will be around 5-7 5 p.m., and the rest of the time you can explore the area or relax in your hotel.

At the end of the day, our trekking guide urges you to visit local Sherpa towns to learn more about their culture and lifestyle in the Himalayas while preparing the meals.
