A sudden flash flood entered Nepal from the Tibetan side through the Bhote Koshi River in Rasuwa at approximately 08:30 a.m. on Wednesday. The incident has caused damage to local settlements in the Timure and Syabrubesi areas, raising severe safety concerns along downstream river corridors.

The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has mobilized emergency responses and issued strict travel guidelines for anyone planning to visit or currently traveling through the affected regions.

What Happened?

  • A flash flood originated from the Tibetan side of the Bhote Koshi River in Rasuwa.

  • Settlements in Timure and Syabrubesi sustained damage.

  • Impacted Highways: Key routes experiencing disruptions include the Prithvi Highway, the Galchhi–Nuwakot–Rasuwa–Syabrubesi road, and the Muglin–Narayangadh road.
